What an experienced it has been, wow! I write this post one day later, because we were entertained all day and evening long.
Our anchoring maneuver in gusty wind from the side next to another sailboat at the bathing pier in Stora Uttervik went perfectly, I am so proud of my crew! We checked on the boat 3 times during the day, but boat was safe and conversed with the neighbors, who had sailed through the night from Ingarö to celebrate with their parents. Just in case we even exchanged mobile numbers. As predicted though the wind died down during the night so we had quite sleep even if it ended up being fairly short.
Camilla, Magnus, Lilly and Leon greated us when we got of the boat after an early sail from Nävekvarn on their pier and walked us to their yellow house. Ludwig we met at the house.
The new crew Torsten, Eva and Stefan arrived in Nyköping and got picked up by Magnus and Martin. After that Camilla and Magnus friends also arrived as Swedish back up!
We had sunshine and started the midsummer lunch preparations.
Lunch we managed accompanying with singing snaps songs in 3 different languages. After that we danced around the midsummer pole with all kinds and back at the house we had strawberry cream cake and coffee.
Weather was cold, but mostly sunny until in the afternoon we prepared the tents to continue to be able to sit outside.
Even some soccer game watching took place on the sidelines while we prepared for the evening barbecue! In honor of Magnus mom's tradition we all can confirm our hosts "tried to feed us to death!"
By the by Camilla had us divided into 4 groups to complete against each other. The funniest challenge was trying to move a cookie from your forehead with grimacing and and head tilts without use of hands to eat it. That explains the strange pictures attached.
For the last nightcap we moved inside to enjoy whiskey, tea and the open fire!
All in all I think midsummer could not have been more perfect!
Thanks Camilla and Magnus, you are fabulous!
