Yesterday we only sailed a short distance from Napoleon viken to Saltsjöbaden where I had made reservations in advance via mail that wasn't answered then via phone, so in the end we had 2 reservations!
Since over 3 weeks it was the first T-shirt and shorts day and we enjoyed breakfast outside without 5 layers of clothes. Wind was great for sailing and we managed almost through the narrow passages with sail too and Linn steered for her first time. Another thing great talent!
Coming to the harbour we know a bouy maneuver expected us so we prepared everything well in advance. We caught the bouy Linn handed over the front line to the guest harbour personal and that's when all the confusion started, but got sorted out after a while. Finally we were nicely docked alongside another sailboat and rapidly we had a German boat on the other side with a very chatty captain that could not believe I was Swedish without an accent speaking German.
Now Linn and I got freshened up to head to the capital to work of a long to do list. With Saltsjöbaden that stops 200m from the harbour the ride was easy.
After lunch at Strömmingsboden on top of Slussen and nice conversations with tourists. I got my second vaccination shot, new sailing gloves, 2 overview sea charts and the Åland flag. Then it started to downpour, so we took a bus to Nybroplan and then we had Latte and bulle at Wiener Kaffeet at Mästersamuelsgatan across from the flat I grew up in until age of 8, delicious! Linn was wearing short shorts showing off her great legs having many men turn around and I caught one comment: "legs!" I felt privileged to have such a beautiful Swedish girl roaming the streets with me.
Since I am a fan of the designer Michael Kors and so is Linn we ended up at their store around the corner. There I could not leave without taking advantage of 50%off on a cute little blue leather hand bag. Our to do list was half finished and got done with some other shopping interruptions until we headed back at 19h.
We had arranged to have dinner with Viveka and Thomas at the harbour restaurant. So they arrived shortly after our return and we could have a drink on deck before we were called to our table. Very handy having the boat next to the restaurant!
We had a great time together and the only disappointment for me is Thomas will not join sailing next week due to a move of his office that came unexpectedly.
Now coffee is ready and another sunny day has started!
